Barry R. will be taking this trip to the historic (dating from the early 20th century) Stone Hut, just past where Butler Stream joins Forest Creek.

The plan is to depart from Timaru at 0700 on the Saturday.

The walking time is about 4 hours, and a moderate level of fitness will be required

After settling into the hut, those who want to can walk further to Bullock Bow Saddle at the head of the valley.
