Monday the 12th of February was a short evening walk around Timaru’s Caroline Bay. It was a mild evening with a pleasantly cool sea breeze. Hazel, Graham, Veronnica, Justine, Don, Peter, Olive, John and Wayne came along. We parked at the Caroline Bay north carpark and first walked passed the old Lighthouse and Dashing Rocks to a small bay before the freezing works. The main track beyond here to the Lagoon was closed so we looped around via the track to the road we came in on and walked back to Caroline Bay. We had a short walk past here and went into the bird aviary and came back to the cars via the Council’s new Recreation Area which was full of fun activites for people of all ages.
