Have an easy climb up Puketapu (the little hill beside the town) for good views over the surrounding countryside, then explore the Tavora Reserve (out by the coast) where there is an easy one hour walking track giving great vistas of the sea, beaches and cliffs – and maybe some yellow-eyed penguins.
