This is a 12 km loop, but another 11 km return trip to/from the Ashburton River north branch can be added, giving a total of about 23 km riding.

We will start near Methven cemetery, bike through stands of exotic trees and then through an “enchanted” forest where fairies supposedly live.  We will then continue along Rangitata Diversion Race canal to the north branch of the Ashburton River, before returning via quiet country roads back to our vehicles.

Anyone on this trip will need to be responsible for transporting their own bike.
