Our June meeting will be held at our usual venue – Church Street Bible Chapel Hall, corner Church Street and Avenue Road, Timaru – starting at 7:30 pm.  All members and others interested in the club are welcome to attend.

This month we have a guest speaker: Renee, from Timaru Booksellers.

John, our President has organised this and has supplied the following information …

I am not a shopper/ browser of shops but one Saturday I was in town for a purpose (a purchase at Macpac).  I had parked at the top of the town and being a tramper I felt I was capable of walking down Stafford St. to a shop.  On my return journey I decided to treat myself to a coffee.  Beside the coffee shop I noticed this bookshop.   I had read about the owner and her new venture to open a shop in Timaru’s main street in a newspaper.
I was greeted by Renee and I asked what books she had about cycling in NZ or NZ tramps.  I walked out the door with my purchase and got my coffee (good coffee shop, by the way).  I perused my book while I enjoyed my coffee, and then decided to go back to get a second copy to pass onto someone else.  Back at Timaru Booksellers I struck up a conversation with Renee, and discovered that not only does she know about books but she also enjoys an adventure.  So come along to this month’s meeting and find out what Renee’s adventure was.
