The Huxley valley branches off the Hopkins valley at the top end of Lake Ohau.  Reaching the hut involves a walk of six to nine hours, depending on how far you can get with your vehicle before you have to start walking.  The hut is a standard six-bunk hut.

The plan is to leave town early on the Saturday morning, have a night at the hut, then return home on the Sunday.  A moderate level of fitness will be required for this trip.
