This trip was scheduled for December but had to be cancelled, so let’s hope it’s “second time lucky” this time!

The hut has six bunks and is beside the Jollie River, at the top end of Lake Pukaki on the eastern side.  To get there it is an 11 km walk up the river valley.  Apart from an undulating section near the start it is mostly flat going.  Along the way you walk past Jollie Hut (at the 3 km stage).

The plan for this trip is to stay the first night at Green Point Hut, then explore further up the valley the next day – either camping out there or returning to the hut for another night – before returning to the road on the final day.
