Crooked Spur Hut is in the Te Kahui Kaupeka Conservation Park, and is reached by following Bush Stream.

We will drive up Rangitata Gorge road to just past Mesopotamia, park in the car park and then head up Bush Stream.  The distance to the hut is about 9 km, taking about 4 hours to walk.

The hut sits at 1030 metres and has 8 bunks.  Tents will be taken in case the hut is full, as it is on the Te Araroa trail.

The following day will involve walking back to the car park along the same route.
