Opihi Gorge – Day Trip

Catherine will be taking a trip through the gorge on the newly reopened track, as has supplied the following information ... This walk is near Fairlie. It is 18.7 km following the Opihi river and into the gorge. There are wires and ropes to use to transverse down some parts. The track is narrow in places but stunning. Mt Te Kinga and Lake Brunner Area – Labour Weekend Trip

Advance notice that Barry will be running a trip to climb Mt Te Kinga (a day walk) and to explore some other parts of this area of the West Coast. Accommodation (two cabins for two nights, at $35 per head, with a limit of eight people) has been reserved at the motor camp at Moana. South Temple Hut – Weekend Trip

N.B. The dates for this trip may change! South Temple Hut is a standard six bunk DoC hut, located 7.5 km up the South Branch of Temple Stream, which is just up a bit from the top end of Lake Ohau.  From the campsite at the start of the walk, tracks go up both the South Branch and the North Branch of Temple Stream.
