DESCRIPTION:This trip is currently in the planning stage.  If you think you may be interested and would like more information\, please contact Catherine\, as below. Note that numbers will be limited – for logistical and accommodation reasons. \nIn a nutshell\, here is what is planned …\n2/11: Drive to Haast and stay overnight.\n3/11: Drive 40 km from Haast. Walk along Moeraki River Track\, past Blowfly Hut to Horseshoe Flat Hut. (9 km\, 4.5 hours)\n4/11 Day walk to Middle Head Hut (4 km\, 2 hours) and maybe 0.5 km further to look at rock bivvy.  Return to Middle Head Hut (Total 8 – 9 km)\n5/11 Walk back to Blowfly Hut and stay there. (6 km)\n6/11 Walk to Maori Saddle Hut and stay there. (10 km\, 4.5 hours)\n7/11 Walk to Coppermine Creek Hut and stay there.  This will be the biggest day. SUMMARY:November Club Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Another few weeks have rolled by since our last meeting! \nThis month\, now that the evenings are a bit lighter for longer\, rather than meeting indoors we will be going for a walk at the Otipua Wetlands – so dig out your walking shoes\, dust them off and get them on! \nWe will start at 7:00 pm\, a bit earlier than usual\, so that we will have time to get round the track before it is dark. \nMeet beside the main road\, just north of Saltwater Creek\, at the southern end of Timaru. \nAs usual\, all members and others interested in the club are welcome to attend.

SUMMARY:Greta Track (Ohau area): Day trip
DESCRIPTION:This is a 16 km loop track on the eastern side of Lake Ohau\, not far from Twizel. \nThe track starts beside the lake and initially involves a climb of around 800 metres over 5 km on the western flank of Ben Ohau\, before passing scree slopes and bluffy areas and returning via Greta Stream. \nAccording to DoC it takes 6 to 7 hours to complete the loop. \nTo put your name down for this trip or to find out more\, please contact Hazel as below. \nGrade: Moderate\nOrganiser: Hazel (03) 6882032 / 021 1705622
