SUMMARY:Gunns Bush and Kelceys Bush: Day Trip
DESCRIPTION:Gunns Bush is located 10 km northwest of Waimate in the Hunters Hills area.  From the end of Gunns Bush Road the track through the native bush follows a stream and does a small loop before returning the same way.  In many places the forest floor is carpeted with green moss helping make this a short but enjoyable 5 kilometre walk taking about 1.5 hours. \nKelceys Bush is also just a few kilometres northwest of Waimate\, and about 5 km south of Gunns Bush. Two short walks are available here: one of about 20 minutes to a viewpoint\, and another of about 40 minutes following the creek up the valley to the site of the water intake for Waimate’s first water supply. \nGrade: Easy\nOrganiser: Dorothy 03 6881333

DESCRIPTION:Our August meeting will be at our usual venue (Church Street Bible Chapel Hall\, corner Church Street and Avenue Road\, Timaru)\, starting at 7:30 pm. \nAll members and all others interested in the club’s activities are welcome to attend. \nThis month we have some DoC videos (“Fiordland Kiwi Diaries”) to view\, and maybe some others as well. \nIn addition\, if anyone has photos of recent (or otherwise!) trips they have done – whether club trips or not – please bring them along on a pen-drive and we will show them to the group. \nThose who are well behaved may be lucky to score a biscuit and a cup of coffee afterwards!
