SUMMARY:Lake Daniell (Lewis Pass area): Weekend Trip
DESCRIPTION:They don’t get much easier than this! The longest part of this trip will be driving there and back. \nA nice\, easy\, almost completely flat walk (8.4 km\, 3 hours each way) to a lovely lake 5km east of Springs Junction. The rebuilt Manson-Nicholls Hut at the lake has 20 bunks and requires bookings – so speak to the trip organiser about this. \nYears ago (i.e in the Olden Days) there was a leaky rowboat there that you could paddle around in – though not too far from the shore! DESCRIPTION:Mt Alford (1171 metres) is between Mt Somers and Mt Hutt. \nThe walk is 4.6 km each way and takes 4 to 5 hours return. It is initially through bush\, then through tussock and subalpine vegetation to the top. SUMMARY:Oteake Conservation Area: Multi-day Trip
DESCRIPTION:This area covers a lot of land approximately between Omarama and St Bathans. \nThe plan for this trip is to start near Omarama on Friday morning\, walk to Top Hut and stay there that night.  The following day will involve walking to Boundary Creek Hut for an overnight stay.  Top Hut will be returned to on Sunday for another overnight stay\, then walk out to the vehicle(s) the following day.  If time permits it may be possible to also visit Hidden Lake (if it can be found!). \nGrade: Moderate\nTrip Organiser: Catherine 027 7163518
