SUMMARY:Timaru Coastal Walk: Day Trip
DESCRIPTION:Starting at Caroline Bay\, the plan is to take the coastal walk in a northwards direction\, going past Ashbury Park and the Dashing Rocks\, then continuing beyond Smithfield and along the beach beside the Washdyke Lagoon. \nHow far you all go will be decided on the day by those present\, remembering of course that you will all have to retrace your steps back to the starting point! \nThe meeting point will be the car park at the northern end of Caroline Bay\, near the beach access\, at 9:00 am. \nIf you are interested in going\, please contact Hazel\, as below\, so she knows how many to expect. \nGrade: Easy\nOrganiser: Hazel  021 1705622

SUMMARY:Mt Nimrod Scenic Reserve (loop track): Day Walk
DESCRIPTION:The walk will be on the 3 km loop track at the Mt Nimrod Scenic Reserve in the foothills in the Maungati area southwest of Timaru. \nIt takes about 2 to 3 hours to walk\, and can be walked in either direction.  Go clockwise if you want to begin with a steep climb – or go anticlockwise if you prefer your climb to be not so steep. \nSome of the track is in bush and some of it is above the bushline.  Good views are obtained from the open areas\, and a pretty waterfall is a short side trip. \nGrade: Moderate\nOrganiser: Hazel  021 1705622

SUMMARY:The Brothers Range: Day Trip
DESCRIPTION:The Brothers Range\, on the northern side of the Tengawai River\, extends from Cave to Cricklewood – a distance of about 20 kms. \nWe will drive to Cleland Road\, turn onto Brothers Road and drive as far as possible up the hill\, maybe getting as far as the end of the gravel road.  From there we will continue on foot along the “paper road” farm track to the trig at 616 m\, the highest point on The Brothers\, before returning the same way.  If the day is fine you will be rewarded with panoramic views. \nIt is likely that some members from the Temuka Tramping Club will be joining us on this trip. \nGrade: Easy.\nOrganiser: Dorothy  03 6881333
