The Old Ghost Road                                   6th June to 13th June

Grade Mod- Fit
This newly formed track is 80km and goes from Lyell to Seddonville. I am looking at taking a trip into this area and numbers will be limited as it involves a bit of planning and huts need to be booked and paid for early to confirm bookings. It also involves a vehicle shuttle or transport at the end as distances between start and finish are two hours apart. This trip will require a good level of fitness as it is 80k and we will be carrying full packs for 5 nights (6 days). I plan to stay at each end of the track before we commence walking and after we complete the track.  On our journey we will traverse native forest, tussock tops, river flats and valleys with views of the Mokihinui Gorge and surroundings.

Storyline

With the dissolution of her marriage and the death of her mother, Cheryl Strayed has lost all hope. After years of reckless, destructive behaviour, she makes a rash decision. With absolutely no experience, driven only by sheer determination, Cheryl hikes more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, alone. Wild powerfully captures the terrors and pleasures of one young woman forging ahead against all odds on a journey that maddens, strengthen, and ultimately heals her. Written by Spencer Higham
